Why I Walk
A quiet post about why walking is such a big part of my life — and how it helps me find peace, energy, and space to think.
Walking has always been a big part of my life.
I just like to move.
Sitting still makes me more tired than you would think.
Doing nothing can take away your energy.
My favourite walks are woodland paths.
Winding, soft, and full of surprise.
There is always something beautiful waiting around the corner.
I do not like straight paths.
They feel endless. And boring.
Maybe that is why I love the mountains.
They change every day.
And behind every turn — a new view.
My dogs help me move, too.
They do not care about the weather.
Rain or shine, we have to go.
So I learned that rainy days can be beautiful too.
Imagine fog — just above the treetops.
So quiet. So still.
But why do I still love walking?
Because it gives me energy.
It gives me peace.
It gives me a break.
A break for my busy mind.
When I walk with my girls, it gives me space to really listen.
To hear how their day was.
My thoughts slow down.
I do not think about work.
Or emails.
Or dinner.
Or laundry.
There is silence.
On walks, my mind is free from everyday noise.
And that is where the best ideas come.
Out on the trail.
I get energy for life. And for work.
My mood gets better.
And the hard things feel a little lighter.
Even for a moment.
And that moment — it is enough to start the day well.
I love walking early.
Morning paths.
Quiet. Empty.
They fill me up for the day.
I could go on and on. But to keep it simple:
Daily walks help me keep my body and mind in good shape.
They clear my head.
And make space for new ideas.
What does walking do for you?
