The Second Quiet Paths Walk โ Bonaly in the Rain
Reflections from our second Quiet Paths walk in Bonaly, Edinburgh โ a rainy day that still felt worth it.
The second Quiet Paths walk took place in Bonaly on a cold, rainy Friday. The weather was not kind this time. It rained most of the afternoon, but there was no wind. The rain fell quietly, straight down โ soft and steady. It was peaceful in its own way. Just the sound of droplets on our umbrellas and the wet path beneath our boots.
This time, it was just us โ our little family and the dogs. And that was perfectly fine. We went anyway. Once we started walking, the rain did not feel so bad anymore. The dogs were running around as always, happy and full of energy, and the girls were laughing under their umbrellas.
Bonaly looked different in the rain. The leaves were darker, and the air felt heavy but peaceful. The small streams along the path were louder than usual, and the hills were covered in low clouds. It felt like autumn was really here.
It was not the easiest walk, but it was still a good one. Every walk counts โ even when the weather is far from perfect. Sometimes it is simply about showing up, putting on your boots, and stepping outside.
I took a few photos, small details I loved โ umbrellas, wet leaves, and the dogs shaking off the water. These are the moments I want to remember.
The next walk will be in November. Maybe someone will join next time, or maybe it will be another quiet family walk. Either way, we will keep going. ๐ฟ
